  • Existing TATA Motors developed the bus inhouse. Significant additions to electric vehicles have been supplied by the best internationally recognized US suppliers including Germany and China.  
  • All media architecture and software strategies are developed, tested and validated in-house.  
  • Better energy efficiency thanks to direct driving and system optimization: energy consumption 20 more than competing buses. This allows the battery to be used with the most optimal size for the desired range.  
  • Li-ion batteries with NMC are best suited for EVs because they have good specific energy and energy density.  
  • The Li-ion battery with NMC is best for fast charging (120 kWh battery can be fully charged in 2 hours).  
  • Roof battery to prevent damage from water accumulation.  
  • The battery is liquidcooled to keep temperatures within the optimum range for longer life and better performance in tropical environments such as India.  
  • Most models are approved and registered under the FAME program.  
  • One-year maintenance contract, extended warranty, sponsorship, etc. available as required.  
  • Extensive testing was carried out in Himachal, Chandigarh, Assam and Maharashtra to establish performance in different geographic regions of the country. 

Functioning of the Starbus Ev  

Shuttle buses can run on all routes and charge fares during the midday shift. Beginning of the day all buses go to the respective depots with a full load. On the daily working day the bus works on the assigned route until the end of the shift) arrives at the depot to change the shift, and recharge. End of the working day all batteries are charged in the respective warehouses.
