Maruti Suzuki unveiled the eVitara, a compact crossover all-electric sport utility vehicle, at Auto Expo 2025, and it was launched in the Indian market on February 17, 2026. Delivery is already taking place, all set to be available until late July 2026.
It has a length, width and height of 4275 mm, 1800 mm and 1640 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is 2700 mm, and ground clearance is 185 mm. It is available with a seating capacity of 5 people, with a layout of 2-3, and it has a boot space of 315 litres and can carry 3 big pieces of luggage.
In the Indian market, the Maruti eVitara is available in four variants. The Delta is available with an ex-showroom price of ₹15.99 lakh, the Zeta with ₹17.49 lakh, the Alpha with ₹19.79 lakh and the Alpha Dual-Tone with ₹20.01 lakh. Its main rivals are the MG ZS EV and the Tata Curvv EV.
Features Double-Tone Exterior
Up front, the EV Vitara has a closed-off grill for EV styling, sleek LED headlamps with DRLs, a brand logo at the centre and an aggressive bumper with sharp cuts, giving a clear and futuristic look. The sides feature a strong SUV stance, prominent wheel arches and body cladding, and large alloy wheels to give it a rugged crossover sport utility vehicle feel.
The rear gets full-width connected LED taillamps, bold styling, a wide tailgate, and a chunky bumper to give it a wider as well as premium look. It is available in silver, blue, black, grey, and red. The top-end variant is available in double-tone options with a black roof, and the EV-specific shades, such as a combo of green and white, are also available.
Gets Reclinable Seats
The cabin of the e Vitara gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system for entertainment and information and a fully digital instrument cluster that shows all the driving data with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The front-row seats are ventilated, the director is adjustable in ten ways, and rear seats are slidable and reclinable up to 20 degrees.
The panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, push-button start and keyless entry are the features that result in convenience. It comes with the Infinity by Harman sound system, and the top trim gets a subwoofer and tweeters. It also gets multiple storage spaces, armrests, rear AC vents and USB & Type-C ports.
It features many safety features and driving assistant features. The cabin gets a total of seven airbags, which ensures minimal injury in case of an accident. For smooth driving the Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems are added, which include lane assist, adaptive cruise, and AEB. Other features are ABS, ESP, TPMS, and ISOFIX child mounts.
Comes With a 543 KM ARAI-Certified Range
The EV Vitara is available with two lithium-ion battery packs, which are 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It features a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is mounted with a front axle featuring a front-wheel drive drivetrain. The transmission is single-speed automatic. The power output for standard and larger battery packs is 144 bhp and 174 bhp, respectively, and the torque is 193 Nm for both.
The ARAI-certified range for a 49 kWh battery pack is 440 km, and for a 56 kWh battery pack, it is 543 km. The real-world range for standard and larger battery packs is around 350-360 km and 443-453 km, depending on driving style. It supports a DC charger up to 70 kWh that takes 35-45 minutes for a 10-80% charge, and an AC charger of 7.4 kWh takes 7.5-9 hours for the full charge, depending on the battery pack.
