The Creta Electric, a mid-size all-electric SUV from Hyundai, was launched on January 17, 2025, and sales started shortly after the launch. Currently, it is available in the Indian market in multiple variants with ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹18.02 lakh to ₹24.70 lakh.
It is based on E-GMP, which features a seating capacity of 5 people with a configuration of 2-3; all occupants get ample legroom thanks to its long wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The length is 4,340 mm, the width is 1,790 mm and the height is 1,655 mm, giving it a good road presence.
The ground clearance of 190 mm is good to tackle potholes and speed breakers, and it features a boot space of 433 litres that can easily carry 3 pieces of big luggage. Its main rivals are the VinFast VF6, MG ZS EV, Maruti eVitara, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV.
Runs On 17-Inch Alloy Wheels
The front fascia features a closed-off grill with pixel elements, and a charging port is also placed in it. It gets a split LED headlight setup, with daylight running lights placed slightly over the headlamps to give it a bold look. On the sides, it gets 17-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels that improve efficiency.
It has a black roof and pillars with a dual-tone effect, which adds sporty contrast as well as a premium feel. The wheel arches are chiselled and feature strong lines that give it a muscular stance. The rear gets connected LED tail lamps for a modern and premium appearance and EV badging for electric branding.
Gets Ventilated Seats
Inside the cabin, there are two 10.25-inch curved screens; one is for infotainment, and the other acts as a digital instrument cluster. It features an ocean-blue themed ambient lighting, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-speaker premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, and others.
Wireless charging pads are available for both front and rear seats to make phone charging convenient. The front seats are ventilated, which keeps the front-seat passengers and driver cool during the heat, ideal for Indian summer. The driver's seat is powered in eight ways with a memory function.
For safety, it comes with six airbags, ESC, TPMS and Hill Assist; and for driving convenience, it gets Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems featuring lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera and parking sensors.
Gives a 510 KM Range
It is available with two LPF battery packs, which are 42 kWh and 51.2 kWh; the MIDC range for the standard battery pack is 420 km and 510 km, respectively. The power output is 133 bhp for the 42 kWh battery pack and 169 bhp for the 51.2 kWh battery pack, but the maximum torque for both is 350 Nm.
Both battery packs are available with a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is mounted with the front axle. It features the drivetrain of front-wheel drive and transmission of single-speed automatic. The acceleration timing is 7.9 seconds, and top speed goes up to 180 km/h for both battery packs.
It supports a DC charger up to 100 kW, which charges the vehicle with either of the battery packs from 10% to 80% within 39 minutes; it also supports an AC charger up to 11 kWh, which takes 4 hours and 4 hours and 50 minutes for a 10-100% charge for standard and larger battery packs, respectively.
Features Disc Brakes
The front suspension is a McPherson strut with coil springs that offers a good balance of comfort and handling, and the rear is a coupled torsion beam axle to help with better space utilisation. Both front and rear brakes are disc, which gives better stopping power, and they are more efficient in the heat dissipation compared to drums.
