Among the EVs available in the Indian market, only a few are those which actually deliver their offerings. Here, we have come up with the 5 best electric cars in 2026. The list includes the Tata Punch EV, MG Windsor EV, Maruti e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE 6.

Tata Punch EV 

The Punch EV from Tata Motors is a five-seater compact SUV. It is available with the ex-showroom price ₹9.69 lakh to ₹12.59 lakh with two battery packs. It is built on Acti.ev architecture, whose length is 3880 mm, width is 1742 mm and height is 1622 mm. 

The ARAI-certified range for the 30 kWh and 40 kWh LPF battery packs is 365 km and 468 km, respectively. The power output for standard battery packs is 87 bhp, and the long-range battery pack is 127 bhp, but the peak torque for both battery packs is 154 Nm. 

MG Windsor EV

The Windsor EV from MG Motors is a five-seater crossover utility vehicle, available with two battery packs whose ex-showroom price ranges from ₹14.97 lakh to ₹19.72 lakh. Its length, width and height are 4295 mm, 1850 mm and 2700 mm, respectively, and it has a boot space of 604 litres.

The available two battery packs are 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh, which generate a power of 136 bhp and a torque of 200 Nm. The ARAI-certified range for the standard battery pack is 332 km, and the larger battery pack is 449 km. It features a top speed of 150 km/h, and the acceleration timing from 0 to 100 km/h is 9.4 seconds. 

Maruti e Vitara

The e Vitara from Maruti Suzuki is a five-seater all-electric mid-size SUV. It is available with the starting ex-showroom price of ₹15.99 lakh and goes up to ₹20.01 lakh. It is 4275 mm long and 1800 mm wide; the distance between the front and rear wheels is 2700, and boot space stands at 310 litres. 

It is available with two battery packs, which are 49 kWh and 61 kWh, whose IRAI-certified range is 440 km and 543 km, respectively. The standard one with a standard battery pack generates the power of 144 bhp, and the large one, 174 bhp. The peak torque for both battery packs is 193 Nm.

Hyundai Creta Electric

The Creta Electric from Hyundai Motors is a mid-size SUV. In the Indian market, it is available in multiple variants with the ex-showroom price ₹18.02 lakh to ₹24.70 lakh. Its length is 4340 mm, width is 1790 mm, height is 1655 mm, and wheelbase is 1655 mm.

It is available with two LPF battery packs. They are 42 kWh and 51.2 kWh, with power outputs of 133 bhp and 169 bhp, respectively, and the peak acceleration is 350 Nm. The MIDC range for the standard battery pack is 420 km and 510 km, respectively.

Mahindra BE 6

The BE 6 from Mahindra & Mahindra is a five-seater all-electric SUV, which is available in the Indian market in multiple variants. Its ex-showroom price starts from ₹18.90 lakh for the standard and goes up to ₹28.49 lakh for the top-trim variant. The length is 4371 mm, the width is 1907 mm and the height is 2775 mm.

It is available with two battery packs, which are 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The standard one generates gives the ARAI-certified range of 556 km and 683 km, respectively. It comes with a single-motor setup in an RWD drivetrain, which generates the power of 228 bhp and torque of 380 Nm.
